We have worked with the local High Schools and Colleges in a program to help the educational
facilities try to determine which courses to offer and how best to teach them so that we might
have a better educated work force on the internet. We are trying to set a better standard for
the minimum requirements of a job in the Technology Industry. Think about this ... a school system
has a very tight budget, to offer training in computer programming they need computers. That is
obvious, but what most people (myself included) fail to count on is that they also need qualified
staff to teach these courses. "So hire somebody" sounds good but how much can they afford to pay them?
How much could the same person make "in the field"? It is hard to find qualified people to teach
at School Systems for what little the schools can afford ... what I am trying to say is ...
instead of junking your old outdated computer, donate it to your local School System. This will
benefit the school sure, but also you can then have it as a tax deducible donation. You will
also be doing a great deal to insure the future of the Technology Industry by relieving some
of the burden of obtaining equipment to use for instructional purposes.
